The Centre for Time Use Research, Department of Sociology seeks enthusiastic
researchers to work collecting and archiving national-level time use diary
surveys. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the study of time-use
at the University of Oxford.
The successful candidates will be working with Professor Jonathan Gershuny and
his team, engaging in small scale project management, documenting and analysing
data from a variety of sources, leading to new archiving and research projects.
They will be involved in data harmonisation, documentation and related
archiving activities and collaborating in the preparation of archive
documentation and research publications. They will also represent the archiving
and research group at external meetings/seminars, either with other members of
the group or alone, and manage their own research and administrative
activities.
The successful candidates will hold or be near to completing a PhD, together
with relevant experience. They will possess sufficient specialist knowledge in
the discipline to work within established archiving and research programmes,
with the ability to use advanced programming functions in at least one of SPSS,
R, STATA or SAS.
There are three full-time posts available on a fixed-term contract, (two posts
for 3 years and one post for 2 years with the possibility of extension for a
third year).
Applications, including a covering letter, CV and the names of three referees
should be submitted by 12.00 noon on 26 February 2014
