The European Universities Initiative: first lessons, main challenges and perspectives

The European Universities Initiative is a flagship initiative from 2019 for higher education development embodying an old but persistent idea: the advent of European universities. Since then 44 European Universities alliances (EUAs) were created, with 340 participating higher education institutions. This study, requested by the CULT Committee evaluates the selection procedures and drafts three future scenarios.
